Stakeholder Training on GBV and Trauma – Mullaitivu District
The Family Rehabilitation Centre (FRC) conducted a stakeholder training on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Trauma in Mullaitivu on 12 August 2025 under the BAT project, facilitated by Dr. S. Sivathas. The training focused on deepening understanding of the causes and consequences of GBV, the impact of trauma and PTSD, and introduced motivational interviewing techniques to strengthen empathetic and effective support for survivors. The session equipped stakeholders with practical tools in communication, empathy, and supportive interventions, while also emphasizing the importance of continuous capacity-building and community-level engagement in preventing GBV and ensuring timely psychosocial support.
