Project intervention

The project will provide capacity-building and livelihood opportunities to survivors of torture living in the Jaffna district: This initiative will build upon the existing skills and knowledge of the survivors by providing structured training and market opportunities for sustainable economic security. This project will provide capacity-building training to torture survivors on marketable skills, such as home gardening, sewing, and other similar skills. It will also allow survivors to access vocational training opportunities. Furthermore, the project will provide opportunities for microenterprise activities tailored to the specific needs of the survivors through business planning, marketing, and mentoring. Finally, it will establish a network of advisors to guide and support the participants to ensure the successful implementation of the project's initiatives and the sustainability of microenterprise activities. This project will help survivors of torture in the Jaffna district to improve their financial stability, increase their economic independence, and develop sustainable income generation activities through community-based livelihood initiatives.
